Covelo--

A forensic autopsy revealed Thursday that Shannon John Lowry, 40, of Covelo died of a single stab wound to the torso. The autopsy revealed no signs of a struggle or other injuries.

Lowry's body was discovered by his sister on Tuesday morning at his residence, where she had gone to check on his welfare.

Deputies of the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, responding to the scene, found no signs of theft or foul play.

Sheriff's detectives are continuing the investigation, but it appears that the stab wound was self-inflicted or accidental.

Lowry lived on Mendocino Pass Road, north-west of the town of Covelo.
